MOVE IT takes place at Olympia Grand event and exhibition venue in central London

Olympia London is particularly proud to support entrepreneurial spirit within the events industry. The venue has a long history of supporting niche organisers and its expanse of interconnected space make it the perfect setting for launch events to grow organically.

One example of this is the consumer dance event MOVE IT. The show launched on the Ground Floor and Level One in Olympia Central in 2006 under the guise of Dance London. And the event, which focused on providing a forum for dance enthusiasts to watch performers, shop for dancewear and take classes, was a hit amongst the dance community. Following two more successful outings in 2007 and 2008, which saw MOVE IT expand sufficiently to occupy the 8,700sqm Olympia National, its organiser Value Added Events was acquired by Upper Street Events.

In 2009, and under new management, the show expanded into the 20,000sqm Olympia Grand, which is where it has remained for five years. Such steady, exponential growth is testament to the show’s success and has helped to make it an essential date in the dance-enthusiasts’ calendar.

In 2013 the show welcomed 20,000 visitors. Its footprint took advantage of not only the breath-taking Olympia Grand but also the recently-redeveloped, contemporary Olympia West.

Having worked in tandem with both organisers since its inception in 2006, Olympia is proud of its association with such an event and looks forward to watching it flourish for many years to come

Dan Holmes, Commercial Director, Upper Street Events said:

"Olympia London provides a great venue for leading consumer dance show, MOVE IT. Not only has the space allowed us to grow but the team wholeheartedly support us in the year on year development of the show."
