4 days, 10,000 pre-scheduled appointments and 62% growth in hosted buyers

The Meetings Show starts today, creating the UK’s largest gathering of UK and international meetings and events professionals.

As The Meetings Show opens its doors, it welcomes:

  • 731 registered hosted buyers – 62% more than 2013
  • 460 exhibitors – 40% of which are new for 2014
  • An 84% increase in number of UK-based hosted buyers
  • A 62% increase in the numbers of association planners at The Association Meetings Conference
  • A 20% increase in floor space

“This is a fantastic achievement,” said Steve Knight, The Meetings Show’s Event Director.  “The Meetings Show is clearly a must attend event for buyers and exhibitors from around the world.  I am extremely proud of the fact that we are facilitating more than 10,000 separate pre-scheduled appointments this year, bringing individuals and organisations together to develop relationships, grow business and create success.”

The Meetings Show’s 2014 programme commenced on Monday 7 July with The Association Meetings Conference at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre followed by the hosted buyer welcome reception at The Science Museum, London, where more than 400 people gathered including hosted buyers, attendees from the Association Meetings Conference and VIPs.
