Find out how Brexit might affect your property purchase at the French Property Exhibition
The French Property Exhibition sponsored by Blevins Franks, International Tax and Wealth Management is returning to Olympia London on 16-18 September to help French property hunters across the UK find their dream home across the Channel.
The annual event brings together a host of French property experts under one roof, where visitors can get practical advice on all aspects of the buying process as well as browsing from a wide range of properties for sale to suit all budgets and requirements. Whether the search is for a permanent residence, a holiday home or a buy-to-let investment, the French Property Exhibition is the ideal place to start.
The free seminar programme runs all day covering topics including mortgages, property hotspots, taxes and the legal aspects, and the ‘How To’ Forum offers further insights into subjects such as currency and healthcare. Visitors will be able ask questions and find out how Brexit may impact their French property purchase.
Karen Tait, Group Editor of French Property News, Living France and France magazine comments, “since the announcement that the UK has voted to leave the EU, there has been some concern among British people planning to buy property in France. The terms of the UK’s new status won’t be decided for two years and the impact on the overseas property market will be unsure until negotiations between the UK and the EU have been finalised. However, while we expect the market to hold its breath in the short term, we believe that people looking to buy a property in France will still be able to realise their dream. Indeed, the process is unlikely to become much more complicated than at present; after all, non-EU residents successfully buy property and move to France. The British love affair with France remains strong and is unlikely to be dented by the decision to leave the EU.
