Head of Community Engagement (part-time)
Olympia London is a world-famous event venue and we’re going through exciting changes. As a large venue, and by the nature of our activities, we recognise that we have an impact on the environment and our local area, but we also know that we have the ability to influence environmental and social change at a wider level. We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Community Engagement professional to join our team in London. This is a great opportunity to work right at the heart of our business and community, supporting our corporate social responsibility programme.
What you will be doing:
You will support the delivery of the Grand Plan, our corporate social responsibility programme, acting as business lead to build and improve relationships between Olympia London and community stakeholders and delivering our social impact initiatives.
You will act as an ambassador for Olympia London in the community ensuring our neighbours are considered in all our business operations. You will work closely with business and community stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
This role presents an opportunity for an experienced Community Engagement professional to work at the heart of our business during an exciting period of evolution whilst the venue undergoes its transformation. Truly no two days are the same!
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for a self-motivated team player with excellent communication, organisation and IT skills. Previous experience in community relationship building is essential with prior PR/ communications experience and the ability to manage complex messaging. You should be comfortable dealing with multiple senior stakeholders, being an ambassador for the business in all these interactions and working autonomously. You should also be comfortable working with MS365, Teams, CRM systems and adapting to new technologies. Prior experience within the events, entertainment or leisure industry would be advantageous.
We are proposing this vacancy as a part-time position, working 22.5 hours a week, we are open to discussions over the arrangement of working hours across the week. Due to the nature of the role you would also be required to have a flexible approach to enable attendance at meetings outside of normal office hours such as local community events.
The successful candidate must be willing to commute to Olympia London in W14, we operate an agile working model in which an average of three days per week is expected to be worked at the venue with two days remote (this would vary dependant on working hours arrangement). This may vary dependant on business needs.
