Olympia London is set to play host to the fastest growing area of technology in a new dedicated event -The Wearable Technology Show. Taking place on the 18-19 March at the Olympia London, it will be the first and biggest show to take place in the UK
The wearable technology market is set to be worth $19 billion by 2018; and for both consumers and businesses alike it presents an opportunity to personalise technology in a way that was previously not possible.
The Wearable Technology Show will feature the largest wearable exhibition in Europe, as well as a host of products on the show floor and live product demos. For the first time established companies like Samsung, Misfit Wearable's, Basis, Glass Up, Narrative, Movea and Fitbit will parade their latest technologies and a number of entrepreneurs and developers will be demoing or launching new products including;
- Samsung - demoing the Galaxy Gear smart watch.
- Optinvent will showcase their augmented reality devices.
- UK start-up SmartLife have a number of new announcements in the sports and wellbeing field.
- HZO will be showcasing their waterproofing technology.
- Sunfriend will be launching their new wristband at the show, which tracks daily vitamin D intake and heightens awareness of skin cancer.
- Sunnycam will be demonstrating their updated product range of head mounted videos.
- Attendees can also get hands on with Google Glass, perhaps the most talked-about wearable device of all.
The centrepiece of The Wearable Technology Show will be the conference programme, featuring over 70 speakers and more than 50 seminar tracks covering wearable innovation, sensor technology, fitness & wellbeing, digital healthcare, smart textiles, M2M and IOE, enterprise applications and the connected car. Over the course of 2 days, the event will attract key decision makers, start ups, venture firms and a host of other delegates eager to learn more about the latest technologies.
The conference programme will give anyone attending the latest on wearable technology; explaining the latest thinking, debunking some of the myths, and giving delegates a unique insight into where the current and future opportunities lie. Most importantly it will enable delegates to see what works commercially. Featuring one to one interviews, compelling panel discussions and some of the leading thinkers on every aspect of wearable technology, including Sonny Vu, CEO of Misfit, Dave Evans, Chief Futurist of Cisco and Dan Cui of augmented reality specialist Vuzix. Renowned technology speaker Steve Brown, Intel’s Chief Futurist will keynote the event.
Delegates will also hear from smart watch firms, some of the leading lights in wristband technology, smart textiles and sensors.
The Wearable Technology Show will also feature a unique developer hackfest, and a Business Start-Up Summit offering start-ups an opportunity to pitch their businesses in front of venture capitalists and the press and to win £5,000 in association with The Technology Strategy Board.
Alongside the event, The Wearable Awards will recognise the best innovations and leading products from around the globe with an exclusive networking evening on the 18th March.
Tickets for the conference are priced at £800 for a two day pass, and £495 for one day. Discounts are available for groups, educational establishments and other qualifying organisations. Entry to the expo and to the developer hackfest is free, but tickets are strictly limited.
