Olympia London celebrates two wins at the AEO Excellence 2015 Awards

Olympia London has been honoured with two prestigious Association of Event Organisers (AEO) Excellence 2015 awards at a glittering ceremony on Friday 26 June in London. Trophies went to Olympia London’s traffic team, who won for Best Team at a Venue and to Charlie Boyes, Fire & Safety officer, the winner of the Unsung Hero award.

Winning entrants impressed judges for their outstanding customer service in challenging conditions. In the year that has seen shows grow by over 30% at Olympia London, the traffic team have provided essential support by devising highly efficient vehicle management plans and demonstrating friendliness and professionalism at every opportunity.

Charlie Boyes, a fire and safety professional with 20 years’ experience, was recognised for his expertise and enthusiasm in his role as Fire & Safety Officer at Olympia London. His achievements included demonstrable examples of going above and beyond to ensure the safety of clients and staff. His ability to earn the respect of everyone he works with also ensured his win for the esteemed Unsung Hero award.

Nigel Nathan, Managing Director at Olympia London, said: “I want to extend my warmest congratulations to the traffic team and to Charlie Boyes. I am very proud of their strong performance during pressured times in this past year and it is a real pleasure to see this work recognised at the most respected and competitive of awards in the event industry, the AEOs.”

The AEO Excellence Awards ceremony was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Friday 26 June hosted by TV personality, Vernon Kay.
