HOUSE, the new event dedicated to providing inspiration and ideas for every room, looked stylish for its debut alongside Spirit of Summer Fair at Olympia London (17 to 20 June) and the Olympia International Fine Art & Antiques Fair (18 to 28 June). Held in association with House & Garden magazine, the high-end show with its focus on heritage and craftsmanship was well suited to Olympia Grand’s timelessly classic space.
Highlights of the event included the HOUSE theatre, where leading experts hosted talks focused on current trends in design and decoration. A Georgian house replica, dressed by April Russell Studio, made a spectacular show centrepiece. The elegant home provided inspiration with designed living spaces all curated from the leading New York and London based studio.
With the addition of HOUSE, the three co-located shows are expected to have generated a 15 percent increase in visitor numbers. The final day of HOUSE was the busiest day attracting around 6,000 visitors. Total attendance numbers are estimated at 19,000 for the four days.
Fair Director at Clarion Events, Stuart Hunter, said: “Olympia London has given us the perfect canvas to design the show we wanted - the beautiful backdrop of the barrel-vaulted roof and connecting spaces allow people to explore what each show has to offer, from Spirit and HOUSE in Olympia Grand through to the Fine Art and Antiques Fair in Olympia National.”
He added: “We launched HOUSE to give our high net worth audience something more – feedback from research groups showed us that an inspiring interiors event would resonate with that target market. There was also a clear gap in the market for an event that focuses purely on quality design and style for the home. We’ve been very pleased with the reception it has got; a lot of good business has been done and visitors are clearly enjoying themselves.”
Sitting alongside Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair and Spirit of Summer Fair, HOUSE is the second co-location from Clarion to launch this year at Olympia London. Craft, the contemporary craft and design show the company launched in January, alongside Top Drawer and Home.
