The Royal Albert Hall on Kensington Gore is a marvellous sight. This striking concert hall was built in 1871 in honour of Queen Victoria's husband Albert. His memorial sits proudly across the road in Kensington Gardens.

Travel on, into town, and you'll reach Buckingham Palace, the home of the Queen. This grand, imposing building is surrounded by delightful parks and tree-lined avenues.

Go south through St James's Park and you'll reach Parliament Square. Three iconic sights await. The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. You won't know where to point your camera first. 

As you continue down to the River the imposing London Eye will draw you onto the South Bank. This giant wheel was built to celebrate the new millenium and a ride in one of the pods will give you unbeatable views of the Capital. At the foot of the Eye is the London Aquarium with over 12 species of shark.

The Southbank Centre is further down. A collection of modern concert halls and galleries plays host to a huge selection of artists and it's the residence of The London Philharmonic Orchestra. Just next door is the British Film Institute and IMAX cinema.

If you're prepared to go even further into town, St Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London await. You can climb up the 271 steps to the dome of St. Paul's and visit the Whispering Gallery. It's a wonderful experience. A bit further east, The Tower of London offers engrossing displays of British history, as well as the opportunity to see the Crown Jewels.
