Buckingham Palace
British Monarch residency

One of the most popular tourist attractions in London, Buckingham Palace can be reached by bus from Olympia London within thirty minutes.

If you want to get a closer look, Buckingham Palace also allows visitors during August and September to tour the nineteen state rooms, which are decorated with some of the most prestigious royal paintings and treasures. There is an entry fee to access the tour, and tickets are limited.

If you are not visiting the capital within these months, there are other attractions which take place at the palace, such as the changing of the guard. This happens every day in the summer, or every other day in the winter at 11.30am, and involves the new guard marching to the palace from Wellington Barracks; this ceremony last 45 minutes and is free to watch. As well as the ceremony, visitors to the palace can also view The Victoria Memorial, The Queen’s Gallery and The Royal Mews (a fee may incur for these attractions).
