THE NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY

The National Portrait Gallery was the first portrait gallery in the world.  Hosting a collection of portraits of historically important and famous British people, from the late middle ages to the present day, it is easily reached from Olympia.

The National Portrait Gallery houses a range of kings and queens to musicians and film stars and offers exhibitions and events, as well as free lectures and tours, which run daily. There is a collection of 11,000 portraits in its primary collection, (and are a must see) displaying the Nation’s great men and women in the form of paintings, sculpture and miniatures. The gallery also hosts a reference collection and a photographs collection.

The gallery provides a range of catering facilities and an excellent gift shop, and offers an experience that cannot be missed for those seeking a cultural and captivating insight of British art and history. Located in St Martins Place, it is a short distance away by bus or tube from Olympia London.
